The Client.

This exciting opportunity is located on Groote Eylandt, in the Gulf of Carpentaria. (1.5 hr flight ex Cairns).This location offers essential amenities, schools, health facilities, and recreational options, making it a unique blend of traditional and modern living. The island has growing infrastructure to support tourism, fishing, and other local industries, creating a dynamic environment where economic development and cultural heritage coexist.

The Opportunity

Support regional development by assisting in the development of a multifunction car service centre, providing diverse automotive services and economic opportunities for the local community including;

• Manage the daily maintenance and servicing of fleet and private vehicles
• Managing and maintaining all machinery and vehicles to a quality standard giving a reliable service.
• Maintain workshop plant and equipment.
• Responsibility for adhering to safe working practices and security within the workshop.
• Implement and maintain given procedures within the workshop and on site.
• Overseeing quality control assisting Traditional Owners with maintenance of vehicles.
• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction within the service department.

About You

• Experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of makes and types of vehicles, from light vehicles, commercial vehicles and heavy equipment (marine desirable)
• Performing log-book servicing of vehicles
• Demonstrated strong fault-finding skills using manual and scanning tools
• Relevant Trade Qualification
• Air-conditioning license is preferred.
• Fault finding and diagnosis
• Mechanic experience would be an advantage
• Dismantling, checking, repairing and re-assembling electrical components and parts
• Current Drivers License
